Velvet Crumb was born from a simple belief — that every celebration deserves a cake made with real ingredients and real artistry. Founded in 2018 in the heart of Notting Hill, we source organic flour, free-range eggs, and single-origin chocolate from trusted British and European suppliers.

FAQ
We deliver across all of Greater London, split into four zones. Zone 1 (Central London) and Zone 2 (Inner London) are eligible for same-day delivery; Zones 3 and 4 are next-day only. Nationwide delivery is available for wedding and tiered cakes — contact us to arrange. See our full Delivery page for a postcode breakdown.
Delivery charges range from £3.95 (Zone 1) to £9.95 (Zone 4 outer borders). Orders over £75 qualify for free delivery within Zones 1 & 2. Collection from our Notting Hill patisserie is always free.
We offer four slots: Morning (8 am–11 am), Midday (11 am–2 pm), Afternoon (2 pm–5 pm), and Evening (5 pm–8 pm). You choose your preferred slot at checkout, subject to availability.
Same-day delivery orders must be placed before 10:00 am, Monday to Saturday. Orders placed on Sunday are delivered the following Monday. Custom and celebration cakes require at least 48 hours' notice; wedding cakes need a minimum of 3 weeks.
Our driver will call you 15–20 minutes before arrival. If you've specified a safe place or trusted neighbour at checkout, we'll leave the order there and send a photo confirmation. Otherwise, we'll attempt one free re-delivery the next available day. A second failed attempt incurs a £5.95 re-delivery fee.
We recommend placing custom cake orders at least 2–3 weeks in advance. For wedding cakes, we suggest booking 3–6 months ahead to secure your date and allow time for a tasting consultation.
Orders cancelled more than 7 days before the delivery date receive a full refund. Cancellations 3–7 days before incur a 50% charge. Within 3 days, no refund is issued but we can reschedule once. Custom cake deposits are non-refundable. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days.
Absolutely. We offer vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free options across most of our range. Please mention your requirements when ordering and we will confirm availability.
